5 Things You NEED to Have at The March For Life
The Annual March for Life takes place each year in Washington, D.C. on January 22. Having attended for over 20 years, I want to share some wisdom about a few must-have items.
1. Hand warmers
Do not overlook this tiny item. The weather for the March is almost always terribly cold and the first places your body tends to lose feeling in are your toes and hands. Buy four warmers and place them in the tips of your socks and in your gloves. This will make a world of difference.
2. A backpack or bag
YES, YES, YES. This is a must have. You will happily visit all the booths and tables at the March, and slowly your load will increase with flyers, brochures, water, snacks, posters, etc. A bag will help you store all those small items.
We did not say “scarf” for a reason. Two scarves will help keep that freezing wind and cold away from your face. And if it gets too hot, just put one scarf in your backpack. Layering is always essential. You can take clothing items off if you get warm, but you do not want to be underdressed.
In a crowd with tens of thousands of people, you can get lost easily. Make sure you have a cell phone, walkie-talkie, or some sort of meet-up spot just in case you lose your group. Remember that, in huge crowds of people like this, cell reception might be spotty. If you have another way to contact those you are with, you can easily reconnect.
Bring your cheer and enthusiasm as you take a stand against abortion and defend every human being’s life! This is the most important thing to bring, as it will draw attention to the March for Life. When others see your passion and enthusiasm, they will want to know more and to understand why you march.
