How many young people know the true nature of Planned Parenthood? Sure, we hear about this organization on the news all the time or we may have friends who go to Planned Parenthood or maybe you have prayed outside a facility. Whatever it is, we know many people feel confused when they hear the words “Planned Parenthood,” so we’re going to break down what Planned Parenthood is all about by using its own annual reports.
What is it?
Planned Parenthood coins itself as a “nonprofit” healthcare organization. However, if you take a look at its stats, you will clearly see it is a business! In fact, it is a business that made 1,296.1 million dollars in just 2015.
Is PP in it for the money?
We’re going to let Planned Parenthood’s own stats answer that question. The organization sells birth control pills for $18 while paying drug companies less than $2 for the pills. It pays $4.50 for an emergency contraceptive kit, yet it sells the kit to women for $33.
Here’s the kicker, Planned Parenthood continually begs for more and more taxpayer money while pocketing over $1 billion in profits since 1999!
Remember that Planned Parenthood hearing in September? Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, testified before the House government oversight committee about how P.P. uses more than $500 million in annual federal funding. That hearing was all about how Planned Parenthood does not need federal money because it is self-sustaining. With millions of dollars in income, it is as clear as day that it does not need to rely on the government for more money. In addition, since 1999, Planned Parenthood’s total assets have grown from $697 million to $1.78 billion. Again, why does it need government money?
Let’s be real
